Your gearbox is controlled by a separate module (the Demon TCU) that has its own firmware, independent of the MaxxECU ECU. This setting determines whether MaxxECU's Shift Target Table actually controls your shift points, or whether the TCU runs its own factory shift maps.
Easiest way to know: ask your tuner whether they reflashed the TCU. A reflash uses a special tool (the standard MTune flash only touches the calibration area). If they did reflash, they would have received an email from MaxxECU support containing the firmware files — the filename will identify Binary 4 + MAPS 003 or Binary 5 + MAPS 004.
The four options:
To verify in MTune (1-minute check):
This is the only definitive way to know — the .save file does not contain TCU firmware identification.
This setting is used only to give the AI accurate context. You can change it any time by editing the vehicle.
